2008 NBA Finals

Rivalry Renewed

Boston vs. Los Angeles

Celtics/Lakers

The last time these two teams met in the NBA Finals, Los Angeles won it's first of back-to-back championships. It also marked the last time the Boston Celtics were playing for the NBA championship. That was 1987.

The 80's featured Magic vs. Bird and a supporting cast of dream match-ups; Kareem, Worthy, AC Green & Byron Scott against Danny Ainge, DJ, McHale & Robert Parish.

This year's NBA Championship series will also highlight key players bound for the Hall of Fame. League MVP, Kobe Bryant, vs. the Truth, Paul Pierce. KG against Odom, Perkins vs. Gasol, Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo, Derek Fisher and some other guy ...

But, in my not so humble opinion, the x-factor will be if Coach "Doc" Rivers will be able to keep up with Finals-experienced coach, Phil Jackson.

I'd love to see the Celtics win in 6; but it is more than realistic that the Los Angeles Lakers could win in 5.

How will Rondo match-up with D. Fisher? Can Pierce and Posey contain Kobe? Who the heck is Ray going to guard? Will that be an advantage for Ray on the offensive end? KG should dominate in the middle as long as he posts up, don't you think? Should Perk be on Gasol or Odom?
