2008 NBA Draft: EASTERN CONFERENCE

Who would you take?

What 2008 Eastern conference play-off team needs to make the biggest move to become a legitimate 2009 NBA Championship contender?

Detroit needs a complete overhaul. Get rid of Flip and Rasheed. I'd try to work out a deal with Jordan and Charlotte's 9th pick for UNC alum 'Sheed and Afflalo. Or even better, send 'Sheed, Stuckey, Ratliff and Herrman to Miami for the #2 pick and get Beasley. (Who the HECK is Herrman anyway, a Darko wannabe?)

Cleveland - who wants any of those guys? They have absolutely no trade-value on that team. Maybe they should trade LeBron to NY for another bunch of guys who can't play and start over.

Orlando - get a guard! Trade up. Send Hedo, Jameer, Bogans and JJ to Minnesota for Mayo and McCants.

Toronto - ship Ford, Brezec and Kapono to Denver and bring Camby back with Diawara thrown in.

Wizards - get healthy & play together. PERIOD. Draft a bench. With the 18th pick don't pass on Douglas-Roberts.

Phila - you have the 16th pick. Do something. Choose wisely, the nucleus seems to be playing well.

Atlanta - was the 1st round a fluke, going 7 games vs. the eventual Eastern conf. champion Boston Celtics? Childress is terrible, play Law more and get a center. Maybe they could pick up Alexis Ajinca from France or GU's Hibbert ...

As for the lottery picking teams, trade the pics for more good players. Look at Cleveland, one super all-star can't win you a championship.
