Did that make any sense? Even the biggest KG-homer has to laugh!

2008 NBA Finals: Game 6

Yesterday afternoon, 2:24 PM, the "Interested-insiders" received a text stating "Boston is breaking out the champagne tonight. Celtics by 13."

"I see it happening tonight. Not sure by 13 though." DJ/CO

As my brother-in-law (MI) told me the C's won despite Rondo's play, and a lot of times even in spite of KG's soft play, I called KG would get 20 & 10.

Now breaking this down, Rondo is quick, fast & good at getting the entire team involved. However, offensively, he looked terrible last night -- ESPECIALLY with his 21 points because he was 8/20, blowing by defenders then missing numerous lay-ups and 3-footers!

I like KG, although he gave the worst post-game interview ever. One can pass it off because he's so emotional. But wow, that was awful!

Last game my bro (MA) texted, "Pierce isn't flashy but he's the MVP of this series." Paul's a stud. His play-off performance solidifies him as one of the best in the league.

Now, I did receive this text, "Repeat? A lot of other teams will make wholesale changes." RB/NC
At first glance, I thought "NO way." But thinking about it, the C's have A LOT invested -- for temporary satisfaction. RG/NY sent an e-mail during the Detroit series sharing how the C's weren't built for a dynasty. They were built to win now.

Which they did in the regular season and play-offs!

There is a 2-3 year window for the C's to win again. But I just pray they don't repeat the after years of the 2006 Miami Heat Championship.

They better keep Posey and House, draft a tall big and get Tony Allen into some ball handling clinics.

As for Rondo, with work his ethic, the shooting will come. The last two year's he's learned to become "Doc" River's point guard; breaking pressure defense & distributing the ball to the best best players.

I called it @ 10:44 PM.

Rondo had just hit a baseline jumper to tie the game at 62 early in the 3rd quarter; and I declared the Celtics would celebrate their 17th championship on the home floor of the Los Angeles LAKERS.

My moments of anxiousness proved to be well-founded as my "media credibility is on the line not that I had given any to you yet." SM, AL

The C's tried to put the proverbial "nail" in the coffin; but instead shot 1 for 8 from 3 in the 3rd.

The pressure seemed to get to Rondo as the "Interested-insiders" cried for #50, Eddie House, to enter, having Pierce run the point/offense through him every time.

"Garnett needs to com in or it's over." DD, NY

I told my brother-in-law to look for Kobe to get the calls down the stretch.

Within seconds KG & Pierce consecutively were called for their 5th personal fouls with 3:31 left in the game, down 1, 92-91.

"Great. Dumb foul by Pierce." JF, MA

KG did not look good down the stretch. He missed 2 foul shots and was out rebounded by Gasol.

Pierce gets "stripped" by Kobe (foul. Foul. FOUL!), who dunks the ball and LA goes up by 4 with 37.4.

"It was totally a foul. MVP gets calls." DJ, CO

KG had a chance to dunk or tip in Ray Allen's miss; but missed the shot all together. Tough loss for KG.

I admit I was wrong; but BRING ON GAME 6.

at 11:16 "Your original predication is looking pretty good." DJ, CO
My original prediction was LA by 7.

a plethora of first half texting

I said to "Expect a hard foul this game. IF the LAKERS want to make a statement that they are still in this series; or if the C's are down by a lot late in the 2nd half, stating they are not going to be denied their 17th championship."

"I would like the Celts if Pierce wasn't a crybaby." EM, VT
"Rondo is the key, if he is close to 100 percent, it's over." RB, NC
"The Celtics have won despite Rondo this year. He's terrible; can't hit a 15 foot jumper." JB, MI
"Yes but they are more fluid on offense with Rondo in there. He spreads the floor and hits (Ray) Allen and (Paul) Pierce in the corners or wrap-arounds to Garnett." RB, NC

LA had the Boston Celtics down by 19 points in the first quarter.

"C's need to step it up. Can't expect to make 20 point combacks every time." DJ, CO

PAUL PIERCE goes for 21 first half points! Cut the lead to 55-52.
"Told ya he was this good." JF, MA

"I wonder if the Lakers will fold with this Celts rally ... Garnett isn't even needed now." DD, NY
"Gasol is SOFT." JF, VT
"Gasol's gonna get traded when Bynum's healthy next year." DD, NY

Game 5

Prediction(s):

I sent a text to the Interested-insiders this AM beckoning for predictions.

I say LA by 7; although I really think the C's could've stolen LA's heart in game 4. If there's any hesitation by Odom or Gasol, the LAKERS are going to get blown out.

DJ from CO texts @ 11:58 this morning, "I don't know. The C's might have taken the wind out of their sails last game. Lakers might just roll over and give up. I gotta think about it."

SM from AL texts @ 12:40 PM, "Lakers by 13."
